Following his summer move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare will sport the No. 14 jersey previously worn by ex-Nigeria U23 star Bright Enobakhare. Arokodare earned the switch after an eye-catching spell at KRC Genk, where he bagged 23 goals and notched 7 assists in 45 appearances across competitions.

Wolves confirmed the squad number on their official X account, announcing Arokodare’s successor role to Enobakhare. The 24 year old may debut in a Premier League showdown against Newcastle United following the break.

Enobakhare featured for Wolves from 2014 to 2020, scoring 3 goals and contributing 1 assist in 49 appearances, and also lined up twice for Nigeria’s U23 side.

Interestingly, the No. 14 shirt has a history at the club: Super Eagles invitee George Ndah wore it during the 2000–01 and 2001–02 campaigns .

Arokodare now shifts focus to national team duty, having been named in the Super Eagles squad for crucial World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Rwanda. Nigeria currently sits fourth in Group C with 7 points, trailing leaders South Africa by six making victories in both fixtures essential to keep World Cup dreams alive .

We see Tolu Arokodare’s assignment of the No. 14 jersey at Wolves as a mark of both recognition and expectation. The number carries legacy not just from Bright Enobakhare’s days, but from George Ndah’s early 2000s era—which hints at the faith placed in him to continue that tradition.

Arokodare’s form in Belgium was anything but luxurious it was electric. His tally of 23 goals and seven assists spells more than promise it signals readiness. Wolves have offered a platform where that promise can translate into Premier League impact, and perhaps even more: a launchpad to global relevance.

As attention pivots to international duty, the stakes could not be higher. With the Super Eagles' World Cup hopes hanging by a slender thread, Arokodare brings both momentum and responsibility into camp. His inclusion is no mere selection it is a call to lift a nation.

We believe this moment matters. There is a rhythm to fortunes built; club confidence can ignite national resurgence. If Arokodare plays with the same sharpness that defined his Belgian season, he might just become the catalyst Nigeria needs.
