Before you flash a new firmware or custom ROM onto your device

creating a backup image is one of the most important steps you can take

A backup image is a complete copy of your device’s current system, data, and settings

In case of an interrupted flash, boot loop, or software incompatibility

you’ll be able to roll back to exactly how things were before

It prevents data loss, avoids costly service visits, and spares you from buying a new device

First, make sure your battery level is at 100% or at minimum 70%

A low battery during the backup process can lead to corruption or failure

Activate both USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking via the Developer Settings

These settings are typically found under Settings > About phone, where you need to tap the build number several times to unlock developer mode

Once developer options are enabled, connect your device to your computer using a reliable USB cable

Make sure your computer has the proper drivers installed for your device

Now restart your phone into recovery mode

Check your device’s manual for exact instructions: some use Power + Vol Up, others Power + Vol Down, or even a dedicated recovery button

Your custom recovery will display a clean menu with core functions including Backup, Advanced, and Flash

Tap on "Backup" from the main recovery menu

You’ll be prompted to select which system areas to include in the backup

Always include system, data, boot, and recovery partitions

Don’t forget vendor if it appears in the list—it holds critical firmware components

Some devices also have a dtbo or persist partition—include those if they appear and you’re unsure what they do

The backup process may take several minutes depending on your device’s storage size and speed

Avoid unplugging, rebooting, or touching the device during backup

After finishing, the backup files are stored in

It’s a good idea to copy this entire folder to your computer for safekeeping

In case your phone won’t power on, you can recover your data from a computer

Proceed with flashing only after confirming your backup is complete and copied

Use tools like HashChecker or WinMD5 to validate the downloaded ROM’s fingerprint

Never flash a file unless its hash and version are verified

Don’t delete the backup immediately—even a successful flash can reveal hidden issues later

You may miss your previous UI, lose app functionality, or encounter buggy third-party apps

You can restore everything—your texts, contacts, photos, and app configurations—without starting over

This one precaution avoids countless hours of stress and repair work

You probably already have everything needed: اکتیو باکس drivers, cable, and recovery installed

Even expert users can encounter unexpected errors—always backup first

Don’t gamble with your digital life—your backup is your ultimate protection
