When printing on thick cardstock, getting the pressure roller settings right is essential to avoid jams, poor ink adhesion, or damage to your printer. Cardstock needs greater grip to navigate the paper path, but too much pressure can crush the paper. Refer to your device’s documentation for optimal cardstock parameters, as each printer has unique pressure tolerances.

Start at the default cardstock setting. If your model includes a thick paper mode, use it. Roller engagement is calibrated by the firmware. For models without auto-adjust, find the tension control dial or slider, usually accessible behind the rear panel. Turn it slightly clockwise to increase pressure, or twist left to reduce tension.

Test with a single sheet of the exact cardstock you plan to use. Monitor the paper’s movement through the rollers. If the sheet bunches, misfeeds, غلطک پرس پرینتر or veers off course, the tension setting is misaligned. If the paper feeds smoothly but the print appears smudged or incomplete, the rollers may not be gripping well enough. Gradually tighten the rollers and evaluate each change.

Never exceed recommended pressure limits. Over-compression can lead to paper fractures. It can also leave roller marks, or cause premature wear on internal components. A good sign of proper pressure is when the cardstock feeds through cleanly without resistance or slippage. Also, ensure the paper is not overloaded in the tray. Make sure the paper is square and flush. Dust or debris on the rollers can reduce grip. Wipe gently using a microfiber towel and 70% alcohol.

Record the optimal pressure level for later reference. Different brands and weights of cardstock may require minor adjustments. Maintain a print journal. Regular maintenance and proper adjustment will extend the life of your printer. And ensure consistent, professional quality prints on thick media.
